Meet the Roots Chiropractic Team

Meet Samy, Chiropractic Assistant

Roots Chiropractic Chiropractic Assistant, SamySamy recently joined the Roots Chiropractic family and is a college student at Metropolitan State University. She is currently majoring in Health Care Professional Services with a minor in Nutrition. Set to graduate in 2020, Samy hopes to pursue a Master of Health Administration.

“I chose to study health care because one of my grandfathers was a doctor and my other grandpa passed away from Lewy Body Dementia. He didn’t get the treatment he deserved while in an Alzheimer’s home.”

Samy’s mission is to provide quality care and to treat everyone as if they were a family member. She looks forward to making a significant difference in each patient’s life.

Loving Life in Colorado

Born and raised in Greenwood Village, Colorado, Samy currently lives in Castle Rock. Being from The Centennial State, she is a typical outdoors fanatic. She enjoys hiking and spending time with her four-legged baby named Java. Winter is her favorite season because of the snow, which is a sign of peace. She heads up to her mountain home as much as possible.

Samy also coaches volleyball and has played it since she was young. Volleyball is important to her because it is a sport that teaches teamwork, patience, self-care, nutrition, and so many other life skills.

She looks forward to meeting everyone who comes into our chiropractic office!

Roots Chiropractic Office Manager, Elayna

Meet Elayna, Office Manager

Elayna gets a lot of questions and compliments on her name. She was named after two aunts, and oddly enough, the name belongs to sisters of both her mother and father. She was born in California and lived there until her family moved to Denver when she was 10. She still misses weekend trips to the beach, but she loves beautiful Colorado and all of its culture. “I like to consider myself an adopted native.”

As a teen Elayna used to travel to downtown Denver to watch and participate in poetry slams. Her favorite place to visit for the slams was Paris on the Platte, which, unfortunately, closed a few years ago. The Mercury Cafe was always a close second place to Paris, and writing is still something that she very much enjoys in her spare time.

Elayna also enjoys taking her kids and dog hiking around Red Rocks or Roxborough whenever they can. She is a lover of all types of art and is a face paint artist at many local festivals across the metro area. She travels as often as she can, recently visiting Alaska, and she is planning a trip to New Zealand and Australia in 2020. Elayna’s favorite past time is exploring live music venues. “My goal is to see at least one live concert a month; that’s how I stay sane.”

Work Experience and Charity Involvement

Elayna has worked in real estate, in recruiting and in sales for most of her career, and is an advocate of charity work, donating her time to Toys for Tots, the Food Bank of the Rockies, and Habitat for Humanity, among others.

She started working for Dr. Johnson at Roots Chiropractic in July 2016. Elayna began her career at the office setting up marketing events for him and has since moved up to office manager (she still handles marketing events for the practice). She chose to work here because she wanted to be a part of something she believed helped others and made a difference. “I love how rewarding it is to see people feel better every day!”
